The sophomore senate donated 977 pairs of socks to the Muskegon Women and Children’s Rescue Mission following its Socktober event

This past October, first-hour classes donated new socks, and whichever class brought in the most socks won donuts.

The goal of  500 pairs was easily surpassed.

“It was so cool to see people donating socks to help people,” said Gabby Lopez, who is co-president of sophomore senate. “It was an amazing thing to be apart of.”

The winning class was Susan Potter’s Spanish class with 282 pairs of socks.
