In order to get the students of Shores in the holiday spirit, the senior student senate is sponsoring a “holiday spirit week.”

Student senate wants to promote a cheerful environment leading up to holiday break for students. This week-long event will take place Monday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 22. All grade levels are encouraged to participate in dress-up days starting on Monday.

Student senate secretary Ellie Zuidema said, “We are doing the spirit week to get the student body in the spirit and to show our unity as a school.”

The senior senate collaborated and chose five different themes for each day of the week.

Dress up days for the week are the following: Monday – Christmas morning (pajama day), Tuesday – snow day (white out), Wednesday – ugly sweater day, Thursday – holiday hat and sock day, and Friday – flannel day.

Senior Tara Janetzke said she is most excited for ugly sweater day.

“I have an ugly sweater that lights up and has a dog on it,” Janetzke said. “I like to show it off.”

Holiday spirit week will allow students of all grade levels to display holiday cheer and will serve as an exciting kick off to winter break.

From ugly sweaters to Christmas themed socks, there is a dress up day for everyone to take part in. Students can spread holiday cheer and show school spirit by participating in next week’s holiday spirit week.
